The official title of this post is “Hey y’all, remember me? My name is Arielle and I like birthday parties and crawfish boils” but that was just too long.
In the interest of full disclosure, I would just like to state my feelings.
I am more than a little bit offended that my family is choosing to have so many get-togethers IN MY ABSENCE. I missed a certain little boy’s 1st birthday back in January. That was offense #1.
Offense #2—The planner of a certain little girl’s 1st birthday party inconveniently scheduled her party on A DAY I WAS NOT HOME. And at the Children’s Museum no less.
Offense #3—I will miss another little girl’s birthday party this weekend. And I do not know how old this little girl will be BECAUSE SHE WILL NOT TALK TO ME. I think possibly I have been gone for so long that she has forgotten who I am. It is not a good feeling, to feel forgotten.
Offenses #4&5—MY PARENTS! You would think that they at least they would show me some consideration. But no, they are the worst offenders (note they have perpetrated offenses #4 and #5). 1st—they get all jetsetty and fly off to Miami for the weekend. Oh they invite me alright, but knowing full well that I will be swamped with work. 2nd—they decide to have a crawfish boil, and guess what. I will not be home. Go figure.
That is all I have to say about that.
As you were.
Love,
Arielle, that girl who went off to college and then her family forgot
I know I am being a drama queen. I get that from my daddy.

Whell!!!! I just don't know what to say! We didn't do it on purpose. But, in all fairness, it IS Crawfish season - now! and it won't be in 2 months when our little girl comes home for summer break. And to add to that, one should be THANKFUL that we're postponing one's sister's graduation party until ONE arrives home on her summer break. ONE will just have to enjoy Crab season instead. Oh, such sacrifices we endure to live away. . .
